Progress towards racial equity in public service

In 2023, the federal government took a significant step towards racial equality by enacting a decree that reserves 30% of vacancies in positions of trust for Black individuals.

This effort was supported by the Movimento Pessoas à Frente, in collaboration with Mahin Consultoria Antirracista, through the formation of an Ethnic-Racial Equity Working Group. Comprising 50 participants from various sectors, the group formulated 27 recommendations aimed at promoting equity and addressing the effects of structural racism in public leadership policies.
